Feel-good knits - Broken Seed Stitch Socks

[Deutsche Version unten][unbeauftragte Werbung, da Markennennung]
Whenever I am stuck with a project I let it “repose” and get back to it a few days/weeks (month in the worst case) with a fresh mind.
I the meantime, I turn to something with low to zero frustration potential, in 90% of the cases a pair of knitted socks. I love knitting socks. They’re dead useful (I always get cold feet and know quite a lot of people who do too), they’re quick to knit and they never go wrong. A real feel-good project.

Two weeks ago I got stuck with my current knitting project, the blocking of my Beatnik jumper is taking forever, my sewing table is not set yet, and I almost desperately needed something nice I could knit almost in autopilot and actually finish. So I cast on a pair of Broken Seed Stitch Socks.
I had made them before on two occasions, one pair for a friend and another for a work colleague, and I was smitten with a pattern so easy, but yet with such an astonishing effect.

The yarn is a rather cheap sock yarn, one from Buttinette (the gradient) from my stash and one from Wolle Rödel I quickly bought to match the first. And what else should I say, the socks were the perfect entr’acte.

My first go on the Broken Seed Stitch Socks
from a few years back.
This matches my wardrobe a bit better.

On request.
