Afterwork-Projekt: Easy-peasy Kissenhülle

 

Kennt ihr das auch? An manchen Tagen komme ich von der Arbeit nach Hause und brauche ein Projekt, das mein ohnehin schon verflüssigtes Gehirn nicht noch weiter strapaziert. Etwas, das einfach ist und schnell geht. Etwas, bei dem ich nach kurzer Zeit ein Ergebnis habe. Etwas mit wenig bis gar keinem Frustpotential. So ein Projekt sind zum Beispiel Kissenhüllen mit Hotelverschluss: Rechteck zuschneiden, 4 Nähte, neue Deko. Auch das perfekte Projekt für Anfänger.

Man sieht es auf den ersten Blick nicht, aber dies ist die Geschichte eines Fails. Keine Angst, sie geht gut aus, aber es gibt ein paar Stellen zum Luftanhalten.

This make is an old(er) one I never got around taking pictures of, not even for my tumblr. At the same time it’s such a loved piece! I wear it all the time because I just love that style and it is just sooo comfortable. My man-friend and I are actually calling it the “Comfy Dress” instead of it’s real name: Cleo.

Coffee & Crafts Sunday

I’ve been feeling quite a bit under the weather lately, but last weekend something special happened to lift my spirits: We had our first Coffee & Crafts Sunday. And it was brilliant!
As many of my friends also are into crafts, I thought it would be nice to meet up regularly for the sole purpose of talking about knitting, crochet and sewing. Also, it is a good strategy to see each other more often in between work, kids (some of us) and all the other stuff. So from now on, we get together on second Sunday of every month to have coffee, chat and share our current projects.
The first issue was a success even though some people couldn’t make it due to sickness. Sanna brought a delicious red wine cake, we also still had a a part of the ginger bread loo (Yes!) she had brought another day, there was coffee and lots and lots of fun.

You wanna know what we were working on? Here it comes.
Having been a huge crochet fan for a long time, Maria is currently undertaking the second go at learning how to knit. She has successfully cast on and knitted the first rows of a seed stitch cowl for her daughter in a beautiful aubergine-coloured Merino yarn. I didn’t get around to taking a picture, but they will definitely follow as she is determined to learn a nice bind-off next time.
