The Stax hat is one of these projects I just had to knit again - partly because I lost the first hat on the train after only a few weeks of wearing it. A bummer, but on the other hand the pattern is a lot of fun so it didn’t bother me too much. I made a slouchy version because I just like that better than a classic beanie, and instead of using a circular needle and later switching to double-pointed ones, I knitted it entirely on a set of double-pointed needles.
The hat has a very nice texture that reminds me a bit of branches or scales, depending on the angle from which you look a it. It sometimes makes me think of a thick conifer forest, sometimes of armadillos…
